Masaad Ayoob has been preaching this for DECADES and people still don't listen. Do NOT mix your handloads with your carry ammo, period. In some states with liberal leaning legal systems (and I'm not talking liberal firearms laws) even the use of highly effective Cor-Bon or Hydra-Shok ammo can land you in a legal entanglement. While there is law and order and the criminal justice system is intact, and it would recover eventually after TSHTF this is applicable. Use of a handgun in self defense can make the defendant (non-victim, right?) the criminal, in a Napoleanic legal fashion, you must prove your innocnce as you are assumed to be guilty if you used a firearm, period. Even years after a shooting takes place in a SHTFS as is seen with the recent convictions of NOPD in rioting shootings during Katrina, and then it's a matter of he said you said, and aged evidence in a court of opinion.
